This Mustang was built in Ford's Dearborn, Michigan plant on the 20th September 1965 and was painted Vintage Burgundy and featured standard White bucket seat vinyl interior. It was produced as a C-code 289cui-2v V8 engined car with a C4 3-spd floor-shift automatic transmission and driven through a conventional rear differential with 2.80:1 highway gearing, and was first delivered to the Fargo, North Dakota DSO for sale.
This is one Beautiful '65!!! The paint has just been professionally cut & polished, and wow does it shine! The chrome & bright trim are all in very nice condition and shine brightly. This car would be best described as a nice sunny-day driver.
This is an original 'C-code' 289 V8 car wearing its factory Vintage Burgundy paint color. Obviously, it's been repainted as part of the restoration process, and it really does look nice. New bumpers, emblems, light bezels and lenses were all replaced for the restoration. This appears to be a very solid car with no visible signs of bubbling or active rust issues. The convertible top was just replaced with a brand new 'Robbins' Black top that fits beautifully. While not a 'show car' it is quite nice and would easily be at home for weekend shows and cruises.
Interior wise this convertible is a comfy cruiser with reproduction seat upholstery and replaced seat buns. The new carpet is a beautiful burgundy, and the pictures just dont do it justice. New door panels were also installed for the restoration. The radio was even replaced with a reproduction AM setup.
Under the hood, the 289 and C4 automatic have had a reported rebuild, although no receipts were not supplied. From the underside both the engine and transmission look very clean & dry to support this claim. The engine was upgraded with a factory cast iron 4v intake manifold and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. The exhaust was also upgraded with a dual setup utilizing the factory exhaust manifolds. It has good power and the C4 auto shifts nicely.
The tyres and wheels are brand new units and are reproductions of the originals in 15" x 7" rims wearing 215 x 65 Cooper Cobra radial tyres. They fill up the wheel wells perfectly and don't rub.
This Mustang Convertible is an excellent running and driving car. It tracks straight and brakes easily. It needs nothing and is ready for cruising!
